Notable cases:

R v A [2012] Operation Sumbing - Leeds Crown Court.  Represent the only one of six defendants to have not guilty verdicts entered having alleged to have acted as a witness to a sham marriage. The case received local press coverage

R v H [2012] - Birmingham Crown Court.  Successfully defended one of three brothers charged with 3 counts of section 18. The incident arose from a large-scale street-fight in which the three complainants received life-threatening injuries

R v A [2012] - Leeds Crown Court.  Defended a respected Leeds Estate Agent charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment. The case involved the cross-examination of several young witnesses under-16. The defendant was unanimously acquitted

Operation Jaywick [2012] - Leeds Crown Court.  Has been instructed to represent defendants charged with supplying Class A drugs to test purchase officers

R v McDonagh and Others [2011] - Winchester Crown Court.  Operation Audi.  Multi-handed conspiracy to steal in the Hampshire area

R v I [2011) - Bradford Crown Court.  Allegation of repeated sexual assaults by a middle-aged Defendant on a 13-year old complainant at a busy West Yorkshire swimming pool.  Defendant unanimously acquitted following trial

R v F [2011] - Harrow Crown Court.  Case involving historic sexual abuse by a paternal uncle.  The trial involved cross-examination of a 7-year old complainant

R v Kuner [2011] - Isleworth Crown Court.  Allegation of robbery.  The complainant died following the alleged offence, having made a dying declaration as to the identity of the assailant.  The Crown made an application under the hearsay provisions of the CJA 2003

Following lengthy legal submissions on the hearsay provisions and the House of Lords judgement in R v Horncastle, the learned Judge ruled the hearsay evidence inadmissible.  The Crown accordingly offered no evidence

R v Brar and Others [2011] - Isleworth Crown Court.  Multi-handed street robbery

R v Fitzpatrick [2010] EWCA Crim 1633 - Successful appeal against sentence in a dangerous driving case.  Sustained road rage incident on the A1 Grantham.  Sentence reduced from 15 months to 10 months' imprisonment, taking into account the judgement in R v Watson [2008] 1 Cr App R (S) 55

R v Hoxha and Others [2010] - Kingston Crown Court.  7-handed conspiracy to facilitate illegal entry to the UK

R v I [2009] - Huntingdon Crown Court.  Allegation of repeated sexual assaults by a taxi driver on two 12-year passengers.  Defendant acquitted unanimously following trial
